Austin Public Library Teen Volunteer Program

APD Youth Program  

The APD Youth Program was developed to create a path for the recruitment of local youth into the Austin Police Department (APD). In the coming weeks and months, APD will hire 60+ local youth to assist with the development of a collaborative youth-led recruiting model.  

Austin Youth Forest Council Internships - Due March 15

The City of Austin’s Youth Forest Council is an immersive, yearlong paid internship connecting young people (ages 16-20) in Austin to careers in natural resources and public service. Youth Forest Council members work with Urban Forest Program professionals to support community activities and develop their own connections to Austin’s natural spaces.

City of Austin High School Summer Internships - Application Closes 2/28

High School interns are placed at various locations based on their future career interests. There is one application for all five programs, and applicants identify program choice on the application.

  • 6-week internship from June 1 – July 10, 2026
  • Interns work 20 hours per week.
  • Interns are paid $13.00/hr.

Code Ninjas Northwest Austin - Volunteer/Internship

Be available 2 days a week to help coach youth esports in games like Fortnite, Rocket League, Valorant, and others. Interested: Contact Chris Wells at christopher.wells@codeninjas.com

Congressman Doggett: Summer 2026 Internship - Due March 13
