College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR)
Anderson HS
At Anderson High School, we EXPECT every student to graduate College, Career, and Military Ready (CCMR). CCMR means that a student has shown they are prepared for their next step after high school—whether that’s college, technical training, the workforce, or the military.
How Students Can Meet CCMR
1. TSI (Texas Success Initiative) Exemptions
Texas students demonstrate CCMR by meeting college readiness benchmarks via assessment. The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a state law created to ensure that all incoming college students are prepared for college-level reading, writing and math. College ready students may begin taking college courses that count towards a degree. If a student can show that they have met TSI requirements through assessment, they are "exempted" from completing developmental courses when starting college coursework. Developmental courses do not count towards a degree and are not covered by financial aid.
Students can meet TSI EXEMPTIONS if they meet one of these college readiness scores:
- SAT
- Evidence-Based Reading & Writing: 480
- Math: 530
- ACT
- English & Reading (E+R): 40 combined
- Mathematics: 22
- No composite score is required
- TSIA2
- ELAR (English Language Arts & Reading): 945 with essay score 5, or less than 945 with diagnostic level 5–6 and essay score 5
- Math: 950, or less than 950 with diagnostic level 6
2. Advanced Coursework
Students can meet CCMR through academic achievements such as:
- Scoring a 3 or higher on an AP exam
- Scoring a 4 or higher on an IB exam
- Successfully completing a Dual Credit course through ACC or UT OnRamps
-
Seniors who successfully complete College Prep Math and/or College Prep English courses at Anderson.
3. Career Ready Markers
Students can demonstrate CCMR by showing they are career ready through one of these pathways:
- Earning a state-approved Industry-Based Certification (IBC)
(link: Anderson's IBC Course Offerings) - Graduating with a completed IEP and Workforce Readiness diploma plan
- Graduating with an Advanced diploma plan and having received special education services
4. Military Enlistment
Enlisting in the U.S. Armed Forces also satisfies CCMR requirements
Why CCMR Matters
-
It’s part of Texas’s A–F Accountability System for high schools.
-
For students, it ensures you are on track for college admission, workforce opportunities, and scholarships.
-
Colleges often require proof of being TSI Exempt before students can register for classes.
It is the EXPECTATION that every Anderson student will graduate with a CCMR marker.
